We have been growing San Marzano Roma tomatoes at Little Valley Farm for over three years. We grew up with our parents and Nonna growing and also making the Italian passata with them.

San Marzano tomatoes are thinner and more pointed. The flesh is thicker and has less seeds. We use this heirloom of tomatoes to make our Italian passata (the sauce).

As is typical of heirloom plants, San Marzano is an an open pollinated variety that breeds true from generation to generation. Our plants are enjoyed and pollinated by our Little Valley bee’s. Our hive is located just across the dam and next to the plants.

Tomato growing season is from November - February depending on our climate in the Hunter Valley. When we are not growing tomatoes we are planting and growing our speciality garlic varieties.

Roma’s can’t be posted at this stage. So its pick up only and will advise pick up locations shortly.
