T4516 Red Rattler

Please read the text below to ensure this place is right for you. It is rustic, off-grid, remote, and basic—it is not for everyone. Australian Traveller named it #2 Best Cabin Escapes around NSW because of its unique charm, casual setting, and deep relaxation adjacent to the Alpaca paddocks. In 2023, Airbnb was a Finalist for Best Unique Stay.

Little Valley Farm is an off-the-grid nature stay experience in our 'rustic' 1950s Sydney Train carriage—true glamping style. It is the perfect experience for eco-conscious and adventurous travellers on our working alpaca farm.

Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, a nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed. It's not like a hotel - your cabin opens up to a beautiful landscape of valley views and alpacas. Sleeps 2 adults only.

The space

We live in a small, beautiful, secluded valley surrounded by bushland. Our paddocks are the local Wollaroo favourites, with good grass all year round. We grow seasonal produce, especially in autumn, spring and summer.

Our train deck is the perfect place to hang out and watch our alpacas, guinea fowl, and chickens move about the farm. We are surrounded by bushland and beautiful, natural creek frontage. Your stay includes a session of feeding the alpacas, where you can take some beautiful photos with them and then hang out with them all day.

The train is not insulated, but there is a gas heater in the lounge area and lots of heavy doonas in the bedroom for winter - true 'glamping' style. Say goodbye to chilly nights with our very own brand of Alpaca PURE duvets. Our cozy alpaca duvets adorn the bed to ensure you stay extra warm and get the best sleep.

**Winter will be COLD, and summer can be HOT inside and outside - So please be prepared for the elements as you would when camping.

We are not near the extensive vineyards, which are a beautiful 40-minute drive up to Pokolbin. This is a nature-based getaway and a secluded off-grid farming experience in the Wollombi Valley. If you prefer crowds and convenience, it is better to go to Pokolbin.

We are a working farm, so you will see us moving about the farm. You can get involved in as little or as much as you like. Our farm is secluded and great for a digital detox; it's a great escape from all the touristy attractions. Our second cabin, The Shearers Studio, is up on the hill, so do expect to see other guests; otherwise, BYO friends, get them to book the studio so you can make the most of all the facilities.

Rustic, Charming, Authentic

Our 1950s train facilities have been hand-built using recycled and upcycled materials. We rummaged around Sydney to find 100-year-old timbers from a house in Balmain, old mirrors from the inner-west, an old laundry tub from the central coast, a claw bath from Gladesville, and old doors from Dad's shed.

Our aim is to operate in a way that minimizes our environmental footprint and leaves the natural environment in its original state, if not better, even after we are gone. So enjoy your glamping experience and take nothing but memories.
