Winter at the Little Valley Summerhouse
Winter in the Wollombi Valley brings a special kind of quiet.
Mornings are cold and still, with mist hanging low over the paddocks. The pond reflects the treeline perfectly. If you watch from the deck, you might spot wallaroos settling in the far paddock, moving slowly and calmly, just like the valley itself. We provide binoculars for a closer look at the wildlife, and a bird book to help you identify what you see and hear.

This is winter in the Hunter Valley when you leave the wineries behind and explore its quieter, wilder side.
The Summerhouse is perfect for this time of year.
Inside, the Cheminees Philippe fireplace keeps things warm and cozy. Outside, the Stoked wood-fired hot tub steams in the cool air. You can watch alpacas and donkeys grazing in the evening light. Everything moves at a relaxed pace. At night, you can look up at the stars, and you may see some satellites drift by.

The Summerhouse can host up to four adults. It has a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, a full kitchen, and a spacious deck with views of the pond and alpaca paddocks. The beds feature alpaca textiles, including our alpaca duvet and throw, offering a warmth that makes cold mornings feel like a choice, not a challenge.
Wombats wander by at dusk, and the birdlife is always active and diverse. Winter truly is one of the best times to visit.
