Autumn stays in the summerhouse

Daniela Riccio March 19, 2025

Tucked away in the serene Wollombi Valley, the summerhouse at Little Valley Farm is a handcrafted retreat where nature and comfort intertwine. Designed with a deep respect for the land, this off-grid haven embraces its surroundings with a north-facing layout, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an airy breezeway that welcomes the valley breeze.

Mornings begin with the soft hum of nature as you sip coffee on the deck, watching mist rise over the paddocks. Evenings are for unwinding with a glass of Hunter Valley wine by the pond, the sky ablaze with sunset hues. As night falls, a dazzling canopy of stars emerges—unspoiled by city lights, just as nature intended.

Here, time slows. Alpacas graze peacefully, donkeys meander along the fenceline, and native wildlife makes an appearance. Whether you seek a romantic retreat, a quiet getaway with friends, or a moment to reconnect with yourself, the summerhouse offers a sanctuary of simple pleasures, where the rhythm of farm life sets the pace.

Honkey Hamlet of Laguna. One of our mini donkeys that help us with our paddock rotation and also helps improve soil health.

What does Autumn look like here?

The video from last year features Calise-Rose and Oberon under the stunning liquid amber trees. Tree colour change happens slowly from April to May (depending on rainfall) and lasts until the end of Autumn/Early Winter. It truly is a stunning time to be out here with the alpacas.

Alpaca Throws summerhouse

Wrap yourself in the warmth of our handcrafted alpaca throws, made from fleece lovingly harvested from our own herd and handspun in Wollombi Valley. 🦙

Now part of your summerhouse stay, these sustainably made, ultra-soft textiles bring comfort, style, and a true connection to the land.

Slow down, breathe in, and enjoy the beauty of alpaca living.

The video features alpaca Oberon, Suki, and Reidy and their wonderful fleece, which was handspun and knitted into stunning alpaca throws. Our website will soon feature alpaca yarn, skins, raw fleece, and more alpaca creations. Make sure you sign up to be a VIP LVF member.
