From the Herd to the Market: Little Valley Farm at the Artisans Collective

Little Valley Farm at the Artisan Collective and Wollombi General Store market June 2026

Our First Market Day, and Why We’re Already Planning the Next One…

Packing up alpaca yarn, throws, soft toys and heading out to share what you’ve made brings a quiet kind of excitement.

Last Saturday, June 6th, we set up our first market stall at the Wollombi General Store Artisans Collective in Wollombi Village, NSW, from 8 am to 2 pm. It was simply lovely.

The day was filled with golden winter light and great conversation. We brought a bit of Little Valley Farm with us: alpaca duvets, soft alpaca toys, and our luxurious La Sierra throws and shawls.  The throws especially caught people’s attention. When people hold a piece of alpaca fibre that is truly soft, warm, and comes from a real animal with a name, it changes how they think about what they’re buying.

And, YES, I am wearing a jumper knitted and the yarn is from my very first four white alpacas back in 2012. It’s my fav jumper to wear all winter.

If you missed us, you can find our full range online at littlevalleyfarm.com.au. But honestly, we’d love for you to visit us in person at the next market. It’s just a better experience.

Mark your calendar: the next Artisan Collective Market is on Saturday, July 4th, at the Wollombi General Store from 8 am to 2 pm.
We hope to see you there.

Thats my alpaca jumper knitted for me.

Coming Up: World Knit in Public Day on Saturday, June 13

We’ll be back at the Wollombi General Store on Saturday, June 13th, from 10 am to 2 pm. This time, we’re celebrating World Knit in Public Day.

We’ll be joined by a wonderful group of knitters, crocheters, and spinners. People who really know their craft. Whether you’re working on a project, thinking about learning, or just want to sit in the garden and chat about yarn, you’re welcome to join us. There’s no agenda and no pressure. Just good company, great fibre, and a beautiful place to spend a winter Saturday morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Little Valley Farm?

We’re tucked into Laguna in the Wollombi Valley, NSW, about 90 minutes from Sydney. We’re a private farm, so we’re not open for casual drop-ins or day visits. What we do have is the Little Valley Summerhouse, our architect-designed accommodation available to book year-round. It’s an adults-only stay that sleeps up to four guests, and you can book directly through our website.

Do you do day visits?

We don’t- sorry, we’re a working farm and an exclusive retreat, not a public attraction. The best ways to find us are online at littlevalleyfarm.com.au or in person when we’re at a market in Wollombi Village. Watch this space for upcoming dates.

Do you run alpaca workshops?

Yes! Our alpaca workshops are perfect if you’re thinking about keeping alpacas as pets or adding them to your property and want to know what you’re actually getting into first. We run them once a month. Head to our website to see upcoming dates and book your spot.

Do you sell alpaca fleece and products?

We do. We shear our herd every September and have fibre available for sale by the end of the year. You can purchase online, or get in touch to arrange an appointment to come and browse in person.
